Darrington Today

Darrington is a thriving and sociable village which boasts 3 public houses,  2 hotels, a primary school, a communal field and playground, a village shop and even its own golf course .

The Village Field

The Village Field, thanks to the fundraising and improvement efforts of the Field Committee boasts a good selection of modern play and outdoor gym equipment as well as a football pitch, and is well used and appreciated all year round.

The Village Shop

The much loved village shop provides residents with their daily essentials and children in the village can often be seen buying goodies on the way home from school.

The shop also offers residents the opportunity to catch up on the news with its regular supply of newspapers.

Darrington C.E. Primary School

Though many surrounding villages have lost the essential infrastructure which keeps a village alive, Darrington retains a vibrant social web with one of the most successful schools in the area.

Darrington Hotel

The Darrington Hotel provides affordable food and accommodation, and has a well equipped children’s play area, and The Kyte Hotel run by The Gallimores provides good food, accommodation and a function suite for events.

Mid-Yorkshire Golf Club

The Mid-Yorkshire Golf Club is to the east side of the village. This is a top class club with an extensive club house and function suite for events.

The Reading Rooms

The Darrington Reading Rooms offers comfortable surroundings for meetings, presentations and parties.  The Hall has excellent lighting and acoustics and will accommodate 40 seated at tables, more for presentations etc. There is a large presentation screen. The fully equipped kitchen boasts 2 ovens, 2 hobs, a large microwave, fridge, catering tea urn and there is central heating and toilets.

West Park

On the southern outskirts of the parish is West Park Homes, a modern development of residential park homes set in a tranquil, rural location but close to the main road network.
