Election Nomination Process

Please print off the forms below before submitting them.

Generally, there are three forms that you must submit  to make your nomination valid:

1a:  Nomination Paper

1b:  Home address form (part 1 and part 2)

1c:  Consent to nomination (including the pages of legislation)

 

You must deliver these forms by hand, and they must be originals, not copies.  Any documents sent by email or fax will not be accepted.

To help you to complete the forms correctly, please use the below guides:

Nomination papers must be delivered by hand to the Returning Officer, Electoral Services Office, Room 45, County Hall, Wakefield, WF1 2QW, on any normal working day from the date of this notice, but not later than 4:00pm on Tuesday, 4 April 2023 during office hours.  The Electoral Services Office is open from 8:30am to 5:00pm (Monday-Thursday) and 8:30am to 4:30pm (Fridays).

Alternatively, if you are unable to deliver your nomination in person to the Returning Officer during the above times, you may request that your nomination be delivered on your behalf by Darrington Parish Council.  To do this please contact the Chairman, Linda Thompson, at chair@darrington.org.uk.

If you decide to change your mind after you have submitted your nomination (but before the deadline on 4 April 2023, you can withdraw your nomination by completing a Withdrawal Form and submitting it to the Returning Officer not later than 4:00pm on Tuesday, 4 April 2023.

*Please note that data protection legislation (GDPR) applies to the processing of all personal data. If your nomination is submitted through Darrington Parish Council, this information will only be used for the purposes of submission of your nomination to Wakefield Council and copies of such documentation will not be retained by Darrington Parish Council.  The information will be shared with the Returning Officer.
