Risk Management

Risk management is an essential feature of good governance.  This policy sets out the Council's philosophy on risk management as well as its roles and responsibilities.

A risk assessment scoring matrix offers a visual representation of a risk analysis and categorises risks based on their level of probability and severity or impact.

The risk management scheme identifies the risks that the Council is exposed to, it score the risk according to its level of probability and severity or impact and it details actions that are being taken or need to be taken to mitigate each risk.

Risk assessments are required to be undertaken every year and any potential risks need to be identified and actions taken to mitigate the risk.  The last risk assessments were undertaken during March 2023.

The Council owns assets which require ongoing maintenance to remain in good condition.  The maintenance schedule sets out when each asset is to undergo maintenance.
